It seems to me that US Weekly and the other outlets picking this up are misinterpreting what Michelle Trachtenberg said here (she couldn't be cast in Thirteen because of scheduling conflicts with Buffy and jokes about being pale enough to play Bella). Otherwise this just doesn't track, because Twilight as a potential gig would've been several years after production was completed on Buffy.
