Why was my post deleted?: June 2009

This is the third Lara Croft/Summer Glau item we've run from the Coventy Telegraph blog in the last couple of months. It's not really saying anything new.

Falls foul of our copyright rule.

The appropriate forum for this kind of thing, is where it currently resides, not Whedonesque.

Interesting video but a poor Whedonesque post for the reason Simon already stated when he deleted it earlier.

I'd like to think we're above the playground mentality of kicking fans of another franchise about the place.

The consensus is that Miracle Laurie was referring to a web only drama show and not Dollhouse.

This is just a tabloid rumor-- his publicist has issued a statement that it's false.

It's a fun article but it would really need more than just a brief mention of Buffy to justify a front page posting.

I haven't been keeping the closest watch on things lately - and even I have read all of this several times already. Ergo, it's duplicative.

This falls into "dog bites man" land, i.e., the kind of news that isn't, despite the sexy "Breaking News" headline attached to the article. Pro sports playoffs preempt shows all the time.

It's a somewhat minor update, not really front page news.

Violates Whedonesque rule against self-linking (i.e. linking to your own page or material)

The last celeb twitter item posted at Whedonesque turned out to be a fake. So unless this SMG one gets confirmed elsewhere, it's stayin off the front page.

The io9 link doesn't tell us anything new or interesting about a Whedon Wonder Woman. The other links are interesting on their own but also have no Whedon content to speak of.

Joss is not involved in this movie, so we're not covering all the casting rumors that will undoubtedly come up.

This is very Whedon-lite for the front page. I see a lot of WW abuse quoted from other writers and then Joss mentioned once at the very end.

Fandoms taking over network surveys is not quite what we're looking for.

News about the panels was posted on the 7th.

We're not going to cover endless internet casting speculation on a Buffy movie that Joss isn't even involved with.

Reasons why this got deleted.

1) Seems to be some debate whether her husband's name is spelt wrong in the tweets.
2) They're divorced.

So until someone can settle than those matters, this is staying off the front page.

This was a two sentence article based on Tony's remarks which were covered at Whedonesque on Saturday. In other words, it brought nothing new to the table.
